DIY Father’s Day Tie Garland – Adorable and Affordable
This Father’s Day, get your spaces looking festive when you give this DIY Father’s Day tie garland a try. This Father’ Day tie garland is so easy to craft, and is a perfect way to add some charm to your Father’s Day breakfast or brunch. Making one is easy, and even children will enjoy giving this craft a whirl. Here is how you can get started making your own.
Supplies Needed:
- Newspaper or Newspaper Print Scrapbook Paper
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Craft Glue or Tape
The newspaper print has a “dad feel” to it. You can use actual newspaper, scrapbook paper, or craft paper that has the same feeling.
Directions:
- Begin by creating a tie stencil. You can simply freehand a tie shape by making a diamond topped with a triangle. Cut the shape out on cardboard and use it as your stencil for your tie shapes you are about to create.
- Trace the stencil onto the paper. Trace it on the backside of the paper so your drawing marks won’t be seen when you cut out the shapes.
- Cut out the tie shapes carefully. Apply some tape or glue to the top of the ties (the top/backside) and press them to your ribbon. Hold in place until secure. Repeat until all of the shapes are used and the garland is the length of your choice.
Your DIY Father’s Day tie garland is now complete. Just add tape to the ends of the ribbon and hang it on a doorway, mantel, or even the wall. It is a great way to add some Father’s Day fun to your space without spending a lot of time or cash.
Happy Father’s Day!
I’m a 20-something stay-at-home mother and wife. I have an amazing husband, a beautiful daughter, two loving dogs, and a lazy cat. I wouldn’t change my life for anything! I love to read, listen to music, cook and blog!
How creative, I can’t wait to try this. I can imagine doing thus with different shapes, and mixing types of paper.
