It doesn’t matter if you’re visiting Hawaii with kids or not, attending a traditional luau is an absolute must. For many people, this is actually a bucket-list item as it’s that significant. A traditional luau will treat you to an evening full of Polynesian music, entertainment, food, and culture giving kids a deeper appreciation of Hawaiian life.

The Dole Plantation

Known as one of the top attractions in Oahu a visit to the dole plantation is described as the true “pineapple experience”. The Dole Plantation first began in 1950 as a fruit stand and grew from there. In 1989 it opened its doors to the public and now brings in more than one million tourists each year. Enjoy presentations, displays, refreshments and food, a gift shop, a garden tour, the Pineapple Garden Maze, the Pineapple Express Train Tour, and more activities.

Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center

Another great family activity is a visit to the Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center. Located in Honolulu kids will be able to explore and discover all kinds of interactive exhibits. Here kids are encouraged to touch, smell, look, and learn giving them the freedom to be as curious as they like.

Waikiki Aquarium

Hawaii is surrounded by beautiful and interesting sea life so why not learn more about it with a visit to the Waikiki Aquarium. The aquarium also happens to be the second-oldest public aquarium in the entire country, as it was opened back in 1904. The aquarium features all kinds of world-class exhibits such as the South Pacific Marine Communities, Corals are Alive, Hunters on the Reef, Ocean Drifters, Edge of the Reef, and so much more.
