Heal The Body And The Soul In The Mountains of Sahyadri

Sharing is caring!

As mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita, infatuation comes from anger, leading to a confusion of memory and loss of reason. There is no happiness when one lacks peace of mind. These days, people are tormented with stress, anger, sorrow and have poor lifestyle habits most of the time.

From the food they eat to the routines they follow, everything seems to be affecting the mental and physical health of the people. A solution to attain the well-deserved peace of mind is visiting a village retreat nestled among the green mountains of Sahyadri.

Spending a significant amount of time in an eco-village retreat develops one’s inner powers, through Yoga, Ayurveda, and Meditation, and brings a transformative change in a person.

How Do Ayurvedic Treatments Help in Healing?

Panchakarma treatment is carried out in Ayurveda to eliminate all the toxins accumulated in the body and restore mental and physical equilibrium. It is one of the most prominent Ayurvedic treatments that help treat a variety of illnesses.

Treatments provided to each person vary according to the ailment, body type, season, and comfort of the person.

Shodhana Chikitsa

Shodana Chikitsa is a treatment administered to purify the body for curing ailments, restoring parts of the body, and rejuvenating it. It involves five types of treatment methods in Panchakarma, such as Rakta Moksha (blood-letting), Nasya (Nasal therapy), Virechana (Purgation therapy), Vamana (Emesis therapy), and Niruha Basti (Herbal medications).

This process helps eliminate the disease from its roots, enhances metabolism, improves digestion, health, and elicits the proper effects of the medicines. The well-qualified doctors administer the right kind of treatment in the village retreat to heal the individual.

Rakthamoksham

Raktamoksham involves the purification of blood by the process of blood-letting, which helps expel the toxins in the body into the bloodstream and out of the body through the gastrointestinal tract.

It is very effective in treating diseases where blood impurity is the leading cause. Different methods like using needles, leeches, shallow wounds, and venesection let the stagnant impure blood out of the body and return it to normal functioning.

The suitable method is selected based on the person’s ailment, location, and predominance of vata, pitta, and kapha. It is a treatment that is provided when other treatments fail to create an impact.

Ayurvedic principles say that the doshas or the toxins that cause diseases may be removed from the body through sweating or oleation. Removing these contaminants from the body through these means may not be as effective for certain issues.

In such cases, purification of the blood through blood-letting is highly beneficial. However, care must be taken to make sure that the quantity of blood removed is minimal so that it does not disturb the body’s functioning as it cleans it. Rheumatic arthritis, swelling, abscess, neuralgia, skin diseases, and unhealed wounds are treated using this technique.

How Do Yoga and Meditation Help in Healing?

Yoga is a therapeutic practice that originated in India and is now practiced all over the world. It is practiced meticulously by millions of people to better their health and reduce stress. It is used as a therapy in treating infertility, cancer, multiple sclerosis, lung disease, insomnia, Parkinson’s disease, joint pain, and blood pressure.

Yoga, especially meditation, emphasizes taking long, deep breaths and relaxation, enabling the parasympathetic nervous system to rest and activate efficiently. It also decreases the cortisol or the stress hormone level in the blood.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa yoga is practiced by enabling the body to take different postures through controlled breathing. No two positions or postures are alike, and these help in relaxing and activating all parts of the body when practiced every morning.

This helps the body to attain balance and prevents injuries caused by stress and repetition. The movements made in this yoga are expressions of how people think and feel.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is inspired by Chinese and Taoist philosophies that believe in the energies that flow through the body. This form of yoga focuses on holding poses that stretch and activate deep connective tissues, ligaments, bones, and joints that are rarely used.

The postures are held for a significant period, and this practice helps in healing physical issues and reduces anxiety and stress.

One can derive the benefit of these practices from a village retreat. A village retreat visit can be a refreshing experience that can change a person’s worldview and lifestyle, allowing them to lead a healthier and happier life.
