Religious gathering

If you are looking for good deals on religious products in the St. Louis metro area, it might be that you will find great prices around specific holidays. For example, around Easter, you will find a preponderance of Christian that which many psychologists believe is due to the season of repentance, Lent.

This is the one time of year when Catholics are told they must attend confession and Mass, or they will not be able to receive the sacraments until they ‘get right with God again.’ It is called their Easter Duty and why there is a greater urgency to get back to matters of faith. Although many Catholics aren’t traditionalists by nature anymore, this is one teaching within the tradition of Catholicism that has held fast over the centuries. So then, how do you find good deals at other times of the year?

Why the Focus on Catholic Religious Products?

You have probably noticed that there appears to be a heavier weight on Catholic religious items as opposed to Protestant religious goods. There is a very good reason for that. As of the latest statistics from Pew Research Center, 75% of the adult population in the St. Louis metro area is Christian. Of those, Catholics hold the highest demographic set at 25% while Evangelical Christians came in at a relatively close at 20%. So then, by numbers alone, you can see why Catholics are mentioned more frequently.

The Numbers Are in But Where Are the Goods?

Since there are more Catholics within St. Louis, you would think that the best deals could be found at gift shops at the local churches or in Catholic religious goods stores in the greater St. Louis area. However, you might be surprised to learn that the best deals on religious products can be found online where you can find everything from vestments to statues and jewelry all in one place. Even better, if you shop sales, you can often find what you are looking for at a fraction of the retail cost.

Just because you can’t find good deals in St. Louis doesn’t mean they aren’t out there. It just means you need to get online and do a bit of searching and comparison shopping. Just be aware of the fact that any handmade religious products are the work of artisans, so they may fetch higher prices. They will invariably be of higher quality and that’s why their reduced prices count as a good deal.

Church Fairs and Gift Shops May Be an Option

Most Catholic churches have an annual fair to raise money for their parish, and schools if they have one. These festivals may have a small gift shop set up so that visitors can find items on sale that go toward the funds being raised. Speaking of gift shops, some churches have gift shops open throughout the year, but their regularly priced items aren’t always a good deal. Don’t forget that any profits go toward maintaining the parish, especially during covid when many parishes didn’t have weekend Masses because of masking and sheltering-in-place mandates.

Whether you are looking for holy cards to give out to your Catechism classes or those which can be handed out at a baptism, wedding, or funeral, you would probably have better luck buying them online in bulk. The long and the short of it is that religious products are out there, you just need to know how and where to shop. The above information should help.
