People who love to try new hair colors must know the struggle when it comes to removing them. How to remove semi-permanent hair dye? Should I try using bleach? Or will it just fade with time? But what if you don’t want that hair color and want it to recede as quickly as possible?

Well, this blog post is for experimental people who try new hair colors every other day but at the same time want to remove them and try something new. Haircare is a sensitive subject, and therefore, we must not take it for granted. Let us not waste any more time and move further to the main subject.

How To Remove Semi-Permanent Hair Dye?

Semi-permanent hair dye is what we all must have tried at least once in our lifetime. And if not, then one must be thinking to try it. But sometimes, when we try a new hair color, we either love it, or we don’t like it at all. But thanks to the semi-permanent hair dye, which gives us a reason to try new colors without any question.

However, periodically removing semi-permanent color becomes a rigorous task. Because sometimes it stays in your hair for more than the expected period. The problem is that some hair colors use harsh chemicals which take longer than usual to fade. For that, some people use bleach, and some use other harsh shampoos. But in this report, you will find many other ways to remove temporary hair color.

Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

Yes, sometimes all you need is a simple solution to all your hair problems— a shampoo. First, you can use a regular shampoo which you often use. If your hair color is not so tough to remove, then I think a regular shampoo will work.

But if it didn’t work, you can either use an anti-dandruff shampoo, which will help. The anti-dandruff shampoo has a strong formula which makes it a bit harsh. It makes your semi-permanent hair color fade just like that.

Malibu C DDL

If you are in a rush and want to remove the unwanted hair color quickly, try Malibu C DDL out. I have been receiving a lot of appreciation for this product. It is a non-paraben, cruelty-free, fragrance-free, and ammonia-free product. DDL is USA-based, and several people have become fans of it. It has a non-drip formula and a creamy texture which makes it easy to apply.

If you want a gentle lift, you can add water to it; else, it comes with a developer. Apply it to your hair in small sections and wait for 45 minutes. Do check your hair after short intervals to make sure there is no harm. After leaving it for a while, rinse thoroughly.

Baking Soda

You can also go for a baking soda and shampoo blend for better results. An anti-dandruff shampoo is hard enough to fade away the hair color. But if still, you have sections where color is still there, you can use this blend.

All you need to do is mix a bit of baking soda with shampoo and apply it to your hair. Do remember that both soda and shampoo should be in a 1:1 ratio. After applying this, please wait for a few minutes and rinse it out with lukewarm water. Do this weekly or until your hair color is completely gone.

Dishwashing Liquid

You can easily remove semi-permanent hair dye with dishwashing liquid. Dishwashing liquid is quite harsh and can make your hair dry, but if you want to give it a try and accept the risk, then this can be a helpful deal. You can even use dishwashing liquid to remove the rust on metallic jewelry.

Just wash your hair twice or as you like it to remove the semi-permanent hair color. Do not overuse it, as it may damage your hair. Use the dishwashing liquid periodically if it doesn’t work in one go.

For the people suffering from hair fall, we suggest bunking this, as it might affect your hair growth.

White Vinegar

White vinegar has acidic properties just like Vitamin C, but it is a bit harsh in some way. You can get rid of unwanted temporary hair color by just washing your hair with distilled white vinegar.

This is the easiest way to remove semi-permanent hair dye and the safest. But at the same time, it can dry up your hair. It can also eliminate dark hair color, which is invincible and takes longer than usual to fade.

Another way to use white vinegar is to damp your hair and wear a shower cap. After 10-15 minutes, rinse it off, and all your temporary hair color will fade away.

Closure

In a nutshell, hair color is what we all want at some point in our lives. If you are a person who gets bored quickly, then temporary hair color is a lifesaver.

But how to remove semi-permanent hair dye is a question that stands afterward. Nevertheless, I have shared several hacks to remove semi-permanent hair dye, and now you may go for another experiment.

But wait, I must tell you that all these solutions can be too harsh on hair and damage them. If you have thin hair or a too sensitive scalp, I request you to be extra careful. Use a minimal amount of these, or just go to a salon for more help.
