Whether you work inside the home, outside the home or are a student, having the skills to spend your time wisely can help you work smarter instead of harder at important tasks. There are three main steps to start training your time management skills: determine how you spend your time, prioritize tasks, and set reminders.

Determine Where Your Time Is Spent

The first step to improving your time management skills is to see where your time currently goes. Do you have a set time for checking your emails and other computer work, or do you get lost searching the best ejuice site for hours? You can take notes on a piece of paper or find a mobile app to help keep track of time spent. The goal is to spend at least two days timing yourself and writing it down to get an idea of your habits. Prioritize Your Tasks

Once you know where your time goes, make lists of your tasks. Having more than one means that you can separate the things you must do, need to do and want to do.
