I hope that you all have gotten the opportunity to visit your local movie theater to see The Good Dinosaur! If not, I hope that you will take your family this weekend – it’s another great Disney/Pixar movie that I love. While visiting Los Angeles for the red carpet premiere of the movie, we also got the opportunity to interview three of the young actors who are the voices of Arlo, Spot, and Buck – Raymond Ochoa, Jack Bright, and Marcus Scribner. These three young actors were absolutely adorable and it was an honor to get to talk to them about the film.

We were all curious as to what traits the actors have in common with their characters in The Good Dinosaur. My favorite response definitely came from Raymond.
Raymond: With Arlo, I think one of his biggest goals is to make his parents proud. And his main one is his papa. He really looks up to his papa and I think that’s one of my biggest characteristics. I try to be the best son as I can to my parents cause I do respect them a lot, so to be a great son to them, that’s all I really want in life, cause they do so much for me so I just want to pay them back for all they do. So I want to be as helpful as he is to the family. I don’t really have a lot of chores in my life so I want to do — I want to start being like him causehe does have to take care of the farm. He has to replace his papa as not being there, and that’s that’s really difficult for him. I really don’t have a lot of chores because I do have three older brothers that can help me out with that whole scenario, but I’m gonna try to be more helpful around the house just like Arlo is on his farm.
We all cracked up at his response and told his dad, who was there, to make sure he remembered that. 🙂

Marcus described what it felt like to now be a part of Pixar history:
It’s a mind-blowing experience. I mean, I grew up watching movies like Toy Story, The Incredibles, all those movies, so working on a Disney Pixar movie is like my dream come true. And for it to be my first voiceover work, it’s, it’s really just mind-boggling. I don’t even know what to say, it’s just amazing.
Here’s a couple of fun facts for all of you:
- During scenes where Jack had to laugh, he couldn’t naturally laugh on his own so he had to have his mom come in and tickle him.
- Raymond’s brothers knew he had the job before he did.
- Jack actually wasn’t originally cast as Spot – his brother was. But because his brother’s voice started changing, they had to have Jack step in.
- Marcus only had one whole day of recording.
- Raymond’s favorite scene is where Arlo and Spot are sharing their family.
Make sure you get to the theaters ASAP to see The Good Dinosaur – you will not be disappointed! It’s a great family movie.
