Most of the candidates, even the professional ones, fail to send a thank you letter after interviewing. Even though it might seem like common courtesy, but people still do not do it. Interviewers are of the view that giving an interview made sufficient impression of their personalities on the interviewee. They could not be more wrong. A simple thank you letter does a lot in a person probability of being accepted for the job. Following are some of the reason which highlight that why sending a letter makes significant impression on the interviewer; 

Shows Common Courtesy 

A thank you letter is a sign of common courtesy. It shows that you are a well-mannered and an organized individual. Everyone likes to keep employees who have these traits. That is because it highlights that you are going to treat your future customers with the level of courtesy and respect. If you made a good impression on your interviewer, then thank-you notes will solidify your profile even more. 

Branding

One interviewer has so many candidates who he interviews. Many of those candidates would not send a thank you letter. If you want to stand out amongst the crowd then you should seize your chance by sending a letter. A good handwritten letter demonstrates your abilities further and allows a chance for you to showcase your personality. 

Make Cheer Leaders

Often times, when you go for an interview, you go through several people in the company before giving the interview. It could be the receptionist in the lobby or the personal assistant of your interviewer. You should try to send each of these people and individual thank you letter. That will create a strong impression of your personality on the minds of these people. When a company hires a person, several people are asked for their input and observation. If you are in the good books of most of these people, then they will highlight the positive aspect of your personality and they will indirectly advocate for you. 

Build A Network

While you are at the company, try to chat with people and make connections. You should consider sharing your LinkedIn profile. You could also add several of your profiles in the thank you letters that you will be sending. By building a network, you will have more chances of getting selected. 

Choose Your Content Wisely

You will not have a lot of words, so try to keep it straight to the point. You should try to add extra information which you know but forgot to share during the interview.
