Did you know that today, September 16th, is National Guacamole Day? I don’t know about you, but I love food holidays!

I’m excited to announce that Wholly Guacamole is launching a special program today in conjunction with National Guacamole Day. Wholly Guacamole wants to celebrate a great group of people who are hereoes – the children of soliders who honorably serve our country every single day.

Did you know that every year, 2 millions kids have to say goodbye to their moms and dads because they have to deploy? I couldn’t even imagine! This means there are 2 million birthdays, first days of school, last days of school, and countless special events that are missed.

Wholly Guacamole has teamed up with Brad Meltzer, a NY Times bestselling author and creator of Ordinary People Change The World. Meltzer’s team created the artwork for the Wholly Hereos program. Proceeds that are raised during this event will go to Operation Purple camps, which are a part of the National Military Family Association. This non-profit organization has summer camps that are for military children. The goal is to help send 100 kids to camp!

Here’s how YOU can help!

  • Go to EatWholly.com or Facebook.com/WhollyGuacamole to purchase a t-shirt or donate directly to Operation Purple camps.
T-shirts, in youth and adult sizes are $10 and the entire $10 goes towards to goal – which they need to sell 5,000 shirts to help send 100 kids to camp.
  • The sales are via PayPal and the shipping is included.
  • You will also receive a coupon for one free Wholly Guacamole product!
  • This program runs from today, September 16th, through October 31st.

I really hope that you will help in this effort! I will be buying shirts for our family!
