Renting a Minibus for a Family Roadtrip Adventure

Sharing is caring!

Since people of different ages and needs will be joining you, there will be a lot of different things to consider when you are booking the accommodations and transportations and deciding on the destination, planning the routes, etc. Planning the perfect mode of transportation is as important as planning the road trip itself. One good idea would be to rent a minibus with a driver. This way, everyone’s many needs are met, people get to catch up on the way, there are no coordination issues, everyone’s comfortable and it is all very friendly on the pocket. Once you are done booking transportation, the rest should come easily to you. But just in case you still don’t know where to start, here are a few ideas that will help you plan the trip:

Picking the destination

While picking a destination sounds like a hassle-free task, it can turn out to be quite stressful. Many times, different family members have different preferences for a road trip. Hence, if you are in charge of planning the trip, make sure to ask for everyone’s choice of destination. Compare all of the options based on distance, weather conditions and anomalies, availability of medical facilities, locations of gas stations, and local places to explore. Keep all of your family members well informed and send out invitations beforehand so that you know exactly who is coming and also have a rough headcount. This will help you while you are making all the bookings.

Booking Your Transportation

Booking the perfect transportation is hands down the most important aspect of planning a road-trip. If you are travelling with a big group of family members, which includes the eldest and youngest members of the family, you will need to take all their needs and comfort into consideration. Most of these things are easily dealt with the moment you charter a bus, though. While there are a number of charter buses available that cater to specific needs if you have a family of 20 members or less, we would suggest you rent a minibus or a mini coach bus.  These buses also have plenty of storage space beneath the seating area, which is very important when you are traveling with family. The seats are comfortable, there is Wi-Fi and the interior is airconditioned and provides plenty of legroom.

Planning the routes

Make sure to select routes that have access to medical facilities and pit stops in the way. This is necessary when you are travelling with elders and young children. Always have a backup route planned just in case the primary route is blocked. Thankfully, your coach driver is a professional armed with a GPS. So, you don’t need to worry a lot about the roads and the traffic. Just inform them of your needs and they will take care of it all easily. An important thing that you should keep in mind is that planning such trips require a lot of attention, due to which you should start planning them at least a few months in advance. This will ensure that you don’t have to pay for surge prices, and hence hotel booking and bus rentals are not only easily available but are also surprisingly cheaper.
