People spend a lot of their time in offices with the people they work with. Coworkers at an office should be able to bond and get along well with each other to ensure a healthy work environment. Sometimes that friendship spirit comes naturally in the workplace, but other times there needs to be certain intervention by those in charge to make sure that all the employees are getting along and bonding together. There are some activities that many office employees choose to do nowadays that have proven really helpful in getting everyone to let their guard down a little and bond with each other.
1. Office Themed Bar Trivia Challenge
This is a great way to get everyone to share a laugh as they try to answer funny questions about each other and the workplace away from the office. Like Bar Trivia, this game could be customized in a way where employers answer questions with specific answers about each others’ workplace routines or a daily habit of theirs. It’s also fun to spend some time away from the office, and hanging out somewhere casual. This is one of the most fun team building options which would get everyone to enjoy a little time with each other away from the office yet with the theme of work but in a fun way. It can also be a chance for employers to learn more about each other and feel more confident in the workplace afterward now that the ice has been broken and everyone is getting along.
2. Set a Date For an Office Makeover
One thing that could get the team spirits up and raise morale as well as get everyone to communicate with each other in a fun way is to redecorate the office. This doesn’t have to be anything over the top or cost too much. It should simply be something creative enough to get everyone together in the spirit of teamwork to join and hang a few decorations or move stuff around during holiday seasons while getting to know each other and bond. The office can have some holiday music playing in the background throughout the process and even some snacks to make a small office party out of the day.
3. Office Themed Scavenger Hunt
If you are looking for a way to get everyone closer together and have some fun not just in the office, but outside as well, then this might be the perfect activity for your work colleagues and you. It can be arranged so that the whole scavenger hunt is based around the office looking for something of particular value (not financial necessarily) that everyone can enjoy looking for. People can be assigned in groups so they can get to know each other better during the scavenger hunt and enjoy a bit of fun together.
4. Bake Off/ Cook-off Challenge
This can be a great challenging activity to have with the work colleagues, especially around the holiday seasons. It can be a chance for everyone to get together in or away from the office and enjoy some comfort food with the fun of the competition. The challenge can be themed around the specific holiday season during the time, so in time for Christmas, for example, the participants can try and bake the best gingerbread cookies or during Easter, they can paint, then cook the perfect omelet or pancake. Whatever it is, the idea is that everyone gets together to share a laugh, then a meal while getting to know each other a little better and bonding away from work stresses.
5. Have a Board Game Challenge Day
This is something that can easily be done around the office during breaks or even after work shifts are over. One of the employees or employers can bring along any board game to the office which can be played in large numbers so that everyone can take part in the fun. It can also be arranged that more than one person brings with them a number of different board games so that each group of people around the office can join in playing their preferred game and have a little fun with their colleagues.
Bonding with colleagues in your company or office can be slightly challenging at first, especially if it’s a new company or if a wave of new employees just starting out. Getting everyone to know each other a little better can be easily done when activities are planned in the office to break the ice and allow for people to communicate with each other a little more. When arranging for one of those revolutionary activities, make sure the majority of people are around and can participate and that nobody feels left out. After all, the whole point of arranging such activities is to allow all the workers to bond and like each other.
