A lot of thought goes into cosmetic surgery; preferably breast augmentation. There are various reasons why women would opt to have the above procedure done.

Before going under the knife, there are various things one should consider before Finding plastic surgery near you.

First, it is of utmost importance to be sure it is the best decision. One has to be confident in the decision to have breast implants.

Second, is to make sure you seek the services of a breast augmentation surgeon. The surgeon should be certified and of good reputation. He or she should also be dedicated and make it their personal mission to give you exceptional results.

Third but not least, one should do extensive research so as to understand what breast augmentation entails. There is nothing as bad as going into a procedure blindly, then afterward realizing that it was the worst decision. The research will also help a patient have realistic expectations and minimize the chances of disappointments.

With that said, below are some of the pros and cons of undergoing breast augmentation surgery.

PROS

  • Increased self-esteem

A large percentage of women believe that their breast plays a huge role in how attractive they look. They will have low self-esteem if they think their breasts are too big, too small or too saggy.

Having breast implants will help such individuals feel better about themselves thus boosting their confidence.

  • Choose the size

Breast implants come in a variety of sizes. Women have a choice to make in regards to the size of implant they prefer. This is unlike for natural breasts where one has no control over the size of breasts they want.

A plastic surgeon, in this case, will advise and work with you to ensure you get the appropriate size that will make you feel good about yourself with or without your clothes.

  • Reversible

Another crucial advantage of breast augmentation is that it is not permanent. In case of unprecedented complications, one can have them removed at their own leisure. It is, however, good to note that most insurance companies will not cover removal surgeries.

CONS

  • Surgery-related risks

Even though breast augmentation is popular and has very few complications, all surgeries are risky and they all carry some degree of unpredictability. The best thing is to ask your plastic surgeon to explain in-depth all the risks involved.

  • Cost

Just like all plastic surgery, breast augmentation can be expensive. This is especially true if the procedure is not covered by insurance. After the surgery, doctors also recommend doing MRI scans every 3 years to make sure the implants are in perfect order. This too can be very expensive.

  • Nipple sensitivity

One potential drawback of breast augmentation is the possibility of suffering nipple oversensitivity or loss of feeling altogether. Some of these side effects are permanent but for most patients, nipple sensitivity is not an issue.

  • Difficult to detect breast cancer

Breast implants often white out breast mammograms, making it difficult to detect cancer.

Breast augmentation is a personal choice. As stated earlier, make sure you discuss with your surgeon all potential risks and drawbacks to avoid unnecessary disappointments.

From what I’ve read from this article, Chicago companies who are in this field are certified experts and are highly trained surgeons so I am confident that everything will all go well. I fully understand that it is a big decision to make but I feel it would really boost my self-esteem if I will do it.
