1. Delegate to Other Family Members

Things have improved a lot. Decades ago, women did all of the housework. Nowadays, you probably don’t have to handle everything by yourself.

And yet, most moms continue to do the majority of the housework. You can relieve some of the pressure on you by delegating to the rest of the family.

You love your kids. You want to do everything for them. But, it’s usually better to resist doing everything and forcing them to look after themselves.

Why not even ask them to help out around the house? When they’re younger you can give them small jobs, such as dusting bookshelves and tidying their bedroom.

But, when they get older, they can start to clean the bathroom and wash the dishes by themselves. Remember to get your partner to help out as well.

2. Avoid Being a ‘Yes’ Mom

Many moms say ‘yes’ to everything they’re asked to do. “Mom, can you do my laundry?” Yes, of course.

If this sounds like how you would reply to your kid asking for you to do yet more housework, then you may need to change!

Moms often take on too much. It’s ok to help out your kids. But, this shouldn’t happen all of the time.

In many cases, your kids or partner is also able to do the task themselves. Only they’d rather you do it. Ask yourself if this is a time to say ‘no’ not ‘yes’.

Next time a family member asks you to add another thing to your checklist of household jobs, consider whether you need to say ‘yes’ or not.

3. Get an Efficient Routine

In the morning, the average Mom has around 26 tasks every day. This could include anything from booking a dental appointment to making breakfast for the family.

Many of these tasks will be the same every day. That’s why it can definitely help to keep a strict routine to improve your efficiency.

This can also reduce the amount of stress and anxiety you may experience in the mornings. Your routine may even include preparing breakfasts the night before and going to sleep at the same time every night.

The more you can perfect your automation in the mornings, the better you can make use of your time.

4. Get Enough Sleep

Many moms don’t get enough sleep. Are you getting your beauty sleep?

Surveys show that if you’re a mom with a baby, you have around a 5 percent chance of getting eight hours of sleep during the night.

That’s the recommended amount of sleep for adults. You’ll find that when you don’t get enough sleep, you’re slower during the daytime.

You won’t be to manage your time effectively if you’re constantly exhausted. Make sure you and your kids get to bed early.

Poor sleep quality isn’t also bad for your health. You need to make some changes to ensure that you’re getting the right amount of shut-eye.

5. Stop Trying to Multitask

You may think that you can multitask. People say that moms are experts at doing many things at the same time.

When actually, the research shows that only around 2 percent of people are capable of multitasking. The rest of us are kidding ourselves!

You should try to focus on a given task at any one time. This will help to concentrate your mind and ensure that you get the job done quicker.

6. Make Lists to Stop Forgetting

Are you always forgetting things? This can really hold you back if you have a lot to do during your day.

You have so much on your plate, it’s easy to forget one or two things. However, this could cause you problems later.
