Tips For Developing The Best Glowing Skin

Sharing is caring!

Our skin is one of the first things people notice about us. Whether your skin looks moisturized and glowing or it’s tired and dull, it is something that isn’t too hard to miss. Let’s face it, though. With so little time in the day, it can be difficult to keep up with all your skincare needs. However, the feeling that you get when your complexion looks so good that all you want to do is take selfies? It’s absolutely unbeatable. By implementing a few small but important habits into your daily routine, you will start to see the results quickly!

Stay Hydrated

I know — everyone says the same, but it doesn’t make it less important. However, if you’re like me, and you’ve already had three coffees by 10 a.m., so you know your skin surely needs more water. A good way to get yourself to start drinking more water throughout the day is to bring a water bottle with you to work or in the car for your errands. Having access to a water source will make you more likely to drink it.

Learn Your Skin Type

Before you can start working on your skin, it’s important to know what skin type you have. Is it combination, oily, or dry? If you’re unsure, then you can do some research or visit your dermatologist to have them help you figure out your skin type. When you pick products, you can choose them specifically for your skin type and not count on the wrong ones. Many face cleansers or oils will have for oily to combination skin or some sort of label on it that shows you what skin type it’s best for. If you have this info, then you can make the best buying decisions!

Moisturize

It is recommended to hydrate your face and body once a day, especially if you take hot showers and your skin starts to dry out. This is a really great time to moisturize, too, while your skin is still slightly damp. Try out a Vitamin C body cream or any product with that extra boost of hyaluronic acid, which will help your body retain water to keep the skin barrier moist. During the winter, when skin is more prone to dryness, you can double down on moisturizer by using one in the day and one in the night.

Use SPF

Sun damage is the easiest way to age your skin and cause an uneven surface. Even if you know you won’t be in the sun, you should still use an SPF every single day. There are wonderful moisturizers out there that contain SPF in them, which you can apply in the morning before you start your day. UV rays can pass through glass windows or the windows in your care. Therefore, even if you work inside all day or in an office, it’s a great idea to keep up with your SPF routine.

Wash Your Face With a Gentle Cleanser

The epidermis, or your skin, is the most protective layer of your body. It will essentially clean itself. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use a cleanser it should just be gentle and soothing to the skin. Be wary of pretty packaging, because sometimes these cleansers contain the most ingredients on them and are actually bad for your skin. Find a product that has fewer ingredients and doesn’t contain any harsh alcohols, as those are bound to create the opposite effect that you’re going for.

Try Some Antioxidants

There are ways to boost your glow from the inside out, and this includes eating more antioxidant-rich foods. Dermatologists suggest that foods with antioxidants will help your skin shine. Berries, grapes, and nuts are all amazing foods that contain antioxidants. Next time you’re looking for that afternoon snack, pick up some blueberries or walnuts to keep your skin in mind!

Consistency Is Key

Just like the gym or any other new habit, consistency is key. You may not see results right away, but if you keep treating your skin nicely, it will eventually reward you. Be sure to moisturize every day with SPF and don’t over-exfoliate, though. Finding the right products that work for your skin will take trial and error, but once you do find them, stick to it. It’s also critical to be kind to yourself and remember that no one’s skin is always perfect, there will sometimes be bad days no matter what you do!
