Update On My Mom and Now My Dad

Well… you know how my mom is in the hospital? Well, she’s still there. This Tuesday it will be a month since she’s been in. 🙁 The past 3 days she’s had to have 5 blood transfusions because she’s losing blood and they don’t even know where from. They’re going to do some procedure tomorrow to hopefully figure out what’s going on. So please keep her in your prayers.

And if that isn’t all enough, my dad is now in the hospital as well. Today I got him out of the hospital and we went to lunch together and to Walmart. On the way back to the hospital, my dad started feeling really bad. He said it was like someone had a bright light and was shining it in his eyes and he was really hot, but his skin was so clammy. So I pulled over into a gas station parking lot. We were sitting there and he had his legs out of the car. All of a sudden, he falls back with his head in my lap. I yelled his name 4 times and he didn’t say anything. I started dialing 911. My dad finally came to. He said, “Where am I?” I took him to the hospital. We were almost there and he said he was feeling better. I told him that I wasn’t letting him step foot into mom’s room unless he got checked out. We got to mom’s room and her nurse was in the hallway and he asked what he should do. She ended up wheeling him down to the ER because she was concerned about him. He text messaged me a little bit later that his blood pressure was 70/50 (normal BP is 180/20)! That’s why he passed out. So they admitted him for testing and observation.

My dad just texted me and said, “I’m sorry.” I told him he had nothing to be sorry for. He replied with, “I can’t take care of mom when I’m in a different room in the hospital.” :'( It made me cry. I told him he needed to get checked out otherwise who knows what would have happened if he didn’t.

It’s just one thing after another. I can’t believe both my mom and dad are in the hospital. :'( Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.

Hope things get better for all of you. Sounds stressful. Take care of yourself.

  2. I am so sorry to hear about both of your parents. Praying for them. And for you! It is very hard to be a caregiver for someone and to try to take care of yourself at the same time. You feel like you have to keep doing for that person no matter what, but you have to take care of “you” too. Speaking from experience. I hope and pray that everyone gets better soon and that they can figure out what is going on with your mom.

I am so sorry to hear that your parents are having so many health issues. I hope you have the support you need to help them. sounds like your mother is seriously ill. And your father may just be exhausted because his wife is in the hospital and is not eating right and may have caught something. good luck make sure to eat right so you to do not get worn down
