Sharing is caring!

FFL is a firearms license given by ATF Bureau. After filling out the FFL Requirements, you will get your own firearms license. With this license, you can gain profit by selling firearms. After you acquire your FFL, you can check the inventory list, which has wholesalers and manufacturers. Then, you can easily decide what to do and how to carry out your firearms business.

FFL Types

ATF essentially offers nine types of FFL’s. You can choose from them which suits your business the most and acquire it. You can easily switch to another license or receive another one once you have a permit. Following are the types of FFL’s;

  • FFL’s for Dealers

In this category, there are four types of FFL’s. In Type 01 FFL, you can be a firearms dealer, but you cannot sell dangerous firearms. You can do gunsmithing in this as well. In Type 02 FFL, you can be a pawnbroker of weapons, but you cannot be a pawnbroker of any dangerous firearm. In Type 03 FFL, you cannot buy or sell any gun. You can only add firearms to your collection. In Type 09 of FFL, you can be a dealer of dangerous guns.

  • FFL’s for Manufacturers

In this category, there are three types of FFL’s. In Type 06 of FFL, you can be an ammunition manufacturer, but you cannot make destructive ammo. In Type 07 of FFL, you can be a manufacturer of firearms, but you cannot make violent firearms. In Type 10 of FFL, you can make lethal firearms as well as destructive ammo for devices. You can also make armor-piercing ammunition with this type of FFL.

  • FFL’s for Importers

In this category, there are two types of FFL’s. In Type 08 of FFL, you can import firearms and ammunition, but you cannot import any destructive ammo or device. In Type 11 of FFL, you can import destructive devices and ammo.

Selling Firearms from Home

In Type 01 FFL, you can quickly sell firearms from home. Many people who have FFL Type 01 sell from home and do not buy a retail home. This way provides more benefits as you can have more profit. If you are selling from home, you can take firearms on wholesale pricing but without many expenses.

You can also get an FFL license so that you can buy for your family. You would not be required to have a retail store or even earn a profit.
