It’s just a matter of days until we change the year, but there are still new WhatsApp features that will be launched soon. One of them is the new interface for voice calls.

Based on information from WABetaInfo, this new interface for sura calls is currently under development. This means no public beta testers can try it at this time.

However, this new WhatsApp feature will be available in an upcoming update for iOS and Android users as reported by sdmbertani.id from 9to5mac, Friday (12/24/2021).

“WhatsApp redesigned the voice dialing interface for future updates to make it more concise and modern. This new design will look great especially when making group voice calls,” wrote WABetaInfo.

Although at first glance it doesn’t seem like much has changed, the new look of WhatsApp’s voice calling interface is smoother than the current version.

Not only that, WABetaInfo also reports that WhatsApp GB is working on indicators for end-to-end encryption. As is well known, WhatsApp has implemented end-to-end encryption for years on its users’ private messaging service.

With that in mind, the team behind WhatsApp decided to bring a new visual addition so that users can rest assured that their voice calls will also be end-to-end encrypted.

“Even WhatsApp and its parent company Meta cannot read or listen to user conversations. WhatsApp wants to remind users that its platform is a safe place to talk to their friends and family. So WhatsApp plans to introduce two indicators in future updates,” wrote WABetaInfo.

As the screenshot is shared, both indicators in question will be shown in private calls as well as under chats.
