There are a lot of sports you could choose to play. Maybe you’ve played some of them. Or maybe you’ve been wanting to be more active and thought sports might be a good way to go. You might consider playing golf. Golf is the only sport I know of that can be played and enjoyed by a 10-year-old as well as an 80-year-old. It’s the only sport where players of any age or skill level can play together, have a great time, and still try to do their very best. There are also some amazing health benefits that come from golfing. You can check out https://www.golftreasury.com for information on golf equipment and accessories.

Anyone Can Play Golf

Twenty years ago, I remember golfing with my grandfather at a club he was a member of. We’d play 9 holes every week together. I was a very experienced golfer and in my 20s. He was in his 80s and had picked golf up after he retired in his early 70s. There was a big skill discrepancy, and as you would expect, I could hit the ball a lot farther as well.

None of this detracted from our enjoyment in playing together, nor did it force either of us to play golf differently. I could put maximum effort in every shot and hit as hard as I wanted. So could my grandpa. We could take it as seriously as we wanted, or we could take it as easy as we wanted. The way I played didn’t influence the way my grandpa played, nor did the way my grandpa played influence the way I played. And we still had a great time playing together.

Now I take my 8-year-old son out golfing, and we have a fantastic time. I got to know and became very close with my grandpa by golfing together, and now I’m developing a great relationship with my son through playing the sport. Golf is truly a sport that can be played and enjoyed by everybody.

Golfing Provides Real Health Benefits

Walking is very beneficial to the body. Particularly as the body ages, walking is a great way to keep joints and muscles from stiffening. Swinging a golf club also helps keep joints and muscles loose. And neither walking nor swinging a club is high impact, so the benefits come at almost no risk.

Being out in the sun also provides the body with much needed Vitamin D. There is a long list of documented benefits the body gleans from Vitamin D, such as strengthening bones and teeth, improved nervous system and cardiovascular health, and regulating insulin levels (particularly beneficial for managing diabetes). As long as you are careful to not get sunburned, being in the sun can provide your body with amazing health benefits.

Conclusion

Golf is a sport that anybody can enjoy at any age. It’s a great way to spend time in the outdoors and get to know others, be it family members, friends, or acquaintances. It’s also a great and low impact way to exercise every joint and nearly every muscle in the body. Thus, it is the perfect sport to enjoy as a 10-year-old or as an 80-year old. I have enjoyed golfing from the time I was a kid, and I look forward to enjoying it for many, many more years.
