2015 Goals

Sharing is caring!

Optimistic Mommy's 2015 Goals Welcome to 2015! For me, 2014 was a pretty good year, both personally/family wise and for my blog and virtual assistance business. I can’t wait to see what 2015 brings, though! I am setting up goals this year, and I decided to share them. I will also be doing a montly goal check in to share how my goals are going. I figured my wonderful readers would be great at helping me stick to them!

Goals - Blog

Write More Personal Posts

When I first started Optimistic Mommy, I planned on using it to write about my personal life. I do that a little bit, but I want to do it more. This year I plan on trying to share more about what goes on in my daily life. I have a couple series’ I will be debuting over the next week that I am excited to share with you! I can’t wait to let you into my life more.

Write 3-4 Posts Weekly

I need to be more consistent about posting. With the couple of series’ that I talked about, this will be much more manageable. Right now I actually have about 5 posts planned per week, but if that becomes too much, 3-4 is the lowest I will go. I figure this is a good variety of posts for my great readers!

Have Blog Posts Planned and Written 1-2 Weeks Ahead

I am terrible at procrastination. Honestly, most of my blog posts get written the day of. And it’s stressful. I will be using an editorial calendar more this year and working to get most, if not all, of my blog posts written way ahead of time. I want the blog to be a bit less stressful for me so I have time to really enjoy it more.

Be Invited On 3 Trips

This wonderful blog has brought me so many great opportunities. Last fall I was invited for a family trip to Corydon, Indiana. This year I am hoping to be invited on 3 trips – whether it be a family trip or a business trip where it is just me.

Get Better With Food Photography

I love cooking and I love sharing my recipes with you here on the blog. But I know my food photography isn’t the absolute best. So I will be working on that this year. I just purchased some awesome backdrops from Peek Prints and I’m excited to use them (and buy a few more)!
Goals - Family

Add A Family Member To Our Family: A Child

We have been trying for a second baby for close to 2 years now. Well, let’s just say we haven’t been preventing it in any ways, if you know what I mean. I want to get more serious about this. On Christmas this year, Riley asked for a baby brother or sister. Riley is so terribly smart and has grown up so much (I can’t believe she’s 4), and I really think this is the perfect time to add another baby to the family. Wish us luck!

Add A Family Member To Our Family: A Pug

I am obsessed with pugs. There was one afternoon this week that my daughter and I spent probably 2 hours watching adorable pug videos online. I just love pugs and think they are the cutest. Our dog, Frankie, is a puggle, and I want to give him a brother or sister as well. Hopefully we will get a pug that fits with our family this year

Go On Two Vacations

I would love for my family to go on two vacations this year. At the beginning of November we went to Chicago for the first time. It was Riley’s first overnight trip somewhere and she had so much fun and was so good. We hope to go back to Chicago this year because there was a lot of stuff we did not get to do while up there, and we’d like to do another trip – hopefully the beach since Riley has been asking about going there.

Budget & Save Money

We don’t have a savings account. Well, let’s just say we have a savings account, but there’s $0 in it. This absolutely needs to change. To do this, we’re going to have to stop eating out so much and create a budget and stick to it. It will be hard, this I know. But I want the stress of not having money for car repairs, unexpected medical bills, Christmas, and more to be less this year. I want to save at least $2,000 in our savings account by the end of the year. I am expecting there to be unexpected events where we will have to dip into the savings, not to mention Christmas, but I want the total that we put into savings to be $2,000. I plan on trying out a few tips from pins from my Budgeting board on Pinterest.
Goals - PersonalWeight Loss

My number one personal goal is most certainly losing weight. I need to for my health. I will be having a series starting next Thursday on this very topic, so I won’t get too much into this right now. Just come back next Thursday!

Time Management

I’m horrible with managing my time. This most certainly needs to get better. I have a brand new, shiny planner for 2015 that I plan on using to help me with this goal.

These are all of the goals that I have come up with so far. I may add some in the coming months, but I’m excited to have goals to be working towards and having to be accountable to my readers will help me accomplish them, I’m sure.

What goals/resolutions do you have for 2015?
