I’ve Got Some Great Ideas To Keep The Kids Entertained All Summer

When it comes to keeping your children entertained all summer long, we Mums know just how tough it is. Boredom can creep in so easily, especially when you’re trying to get on with work or chores. Finding those activities that offer value for money as well as good value for the time invested is a challenge. I’ve been thinking up a few ideas to try out this summer.

One of the first things I thought of was a Theme Park. Not all theme parks are expensive, and many offer children an entire day of entertainment and fun. Kids always seem to be in a good mood when they are surrounded by life-size versions of their favourite TV characters. With plenty of rides for children of all ages, you can guarantee they’ll sleep well after a day out at the theme park. Why not keep the fun going when you get back home, and have them write about it in their journals?

If you pack well and plan it right, a day out at the beach can be great fun for everyone. You will need sunscreen and a windbreaker. Make sure everyone has their sun hats too. Drinks, snacks and plenty of hand wipes will help the day go more smoothly. If you have them, why not pack up some buckets and spades so the children can build sandcastles? Inflatables and balls add to the fun.

If your kids are learning more about places or animals around the world, then a trip to a wildlife park can tie in nicely. Take advantage of any activity packs the park hands out, so there is plenty to do at each exhibit. You could ask your children questions such as which animals eat the most revolting foods, and which spend the longest sleeping. Some children are quite fond of certain animals, so see if you can spend some extra time with them there.

I really enjoy having a Crafting Day. Jewellery making, treasure box decorating, and even needlecraft can be great activities for kids. Find some projects on the internet, and spend a couple of hours helping them get set up. They can then use the afternoon to complete their tasks. It may be that each of your children wants to do something different. It’s great to encourage their individual tastes and personalities.

As a quick and easy getaway, a picnic in the play park of my favourite things to do with the kids. Things can easily get tense at home during the summer. Packing lunch up in a hamper with a couple of frisbees, a ball and a kite means we can head out to our local play park and all get some fresh air and fun. We can all stretch our legs and get out of the stuffy house within just a few minutes.

Keeping your children amused and happy all summer doesn’t need to be difficult or expensive. There are many ways all of you can enjoy the time together even if you don’t have any vacations booked. Enjoy your quality time together, and have fun!
