How to Become a Successful Student

Student time is radically different from the educational process at school, where we are literally forced to study, control every step, attendance and lateness. Getting a student card is not just about getting an education in the future.

At this time, the necessary acquaintances are made, authority is formed before teachers who like to advise their pets on their jobs and write recommendations. Note the basic requirements for the emotional and volitional sphere of students.

Be Responsible and Active

Successful students are not indifferent to learning but responsible for the quality of education, so they take an active part in it. It means being a leader. It is true that active participation in lectures allows you to get the highest marks without increasing the amount of time spent on it in your free time.

You can surf the internet, gaze out the window, or even sleep during the lecture, but actively listening to the speaker and asking questions helps you figure out the content and develop a positive self-image. Later in the exam, any seminar piece will surely come to mind as an emotionally colored event.

Set Educational Goals

The possibility of a prosperous job motivates successful students. If you’re still learning from the ground up, as you were in school, ask yourself: what am I doing here, and is there a better location for me to discover myself?

If you have educational goals, they will help dispel all doubts about the choice of profession and time spent on textbooks. It should be noted that educational goals should not be detached from practice. For example, a freshman philologist may well start a student’s blog and try his pen in it, make reports. Thus, a full-fledged portfolio will be ready by the fourth year.

Become a Teammate

Most teachers want the same thing that students want: cover certain material and give good grades. If you understand which form of work and reporting is preferred by one or another teacher, you can fully study for one grade and even get an increased scholarship. Therefore, unite your efforts. Teachers aren’t adversaries. They, on the other hand, feel deserved pride for successful students, so they make contact with teachers and form a team.

Do Not Sit in the Last Row

Teachers do not like when the first rows are empty and the last full of students wearing headphones. Some even manage to knit or peel the seeds. Even if you are not one of them, a careless neighbor can ruin your reputation. After all, why go to lectures and seminars at all if you sit in the last row?

Make Notes Competently

It’s especially challenging for first-year students who aren’t used to writing quickly. In order for abstracts to be useful before the exam, you must do your best.

First, come up with your system of abbreviations for frequently repeated words, phrases. When inventing new symbols, you can write them on the margins of notebooks.

Secondly, after writing the synopsis at the end of the lecture, it is desirable to run through the material with your eyes so that the text as a whole is clear. In addition, a cursory repetition of fresh material helps you absorb it for a long time.

Behave Properly

This rule applies to lecture behavior. If you become unbearably bored or want to leave the classroom for a walk down the hall, begin to look like an eager student: sit straight, look from time to time in the teacher’s eyes, and ask questions.

This is a great strategy to deceive your mind. A dull lecture can quickly become an entertaining process. Furthermore, witnessing at least a couple of engaged pupils in the classroom inspires the teacher to give better lessons.

Master Various Time Management Techniques

Successful students can plan their time wisely. If you do not postpone everything to the last moment, then there will be enough time for everything: to go to the library, the club, the sports section, and even for part-time work. Learning is not that difficult, but we like to complicate things, for example, reading a book on the last night before the seminar, when the teacher gave the assignment a month ago.

Try Your Hardest

Know that being at the top will always require a lot of effort! So, do everything that you can to get out ahead, just like you would buy letters of recommendation to apply to a top college in the first place successfully.
