Sweet Green Tea Recipe

Sharing is caring!

One of the things I love most about the warmer months is that it’s completely acceptable to drink sweet tea at any moment of the day, early in the mornings instead of coffee, in the afternoon as a refresher, in the night to cool down after a hard day at work. I mean I could probably write about all the times a sweet tea would come in handy but I’m pretty sure you already know them pretty well. So what a girl does when she is craving some sweet tea but want to keep things healthy? She makes some sweet green tea.

Sweet Green Tea

The truth is sweet green tea tastes just as good as the traditional sweet tea we all love, but it’s much healthier and packed with a nutritional punch so why not make it? Actually, green tea is packed with antioxidants that are great to protect us from the sun rays and gosh that’s a whole lot of sun that we are exposed too during spring and summer!

Sweet Green Tea

The only difference green tea has with traditional black tea is that it’s much lighter in color it actually looks just like lemonade! And the taste is a bit softer than the traditional. Besides that, all remains the same: the lemony punch, the sugar sweetness and the cool-you-down factor.

Sweet Green Tea

Making it is super easy! Just heat some water place the teabags in the pot. Wait for 3 minutes, and remove and discard the bags. Wait for it to cool down and add the lemon juice and the sugar. I love to keep a pitcher in the fridge and drink it throughout the day. I also love to serve it with a lemon round to make it look tropical and especial.

Another great thing about this recipe is that you can infuse it with other fruits and herbs. It’s great with some mint or sliced strawberries and is completely delicious with some cubed pineapple.
